Super cool recycled paint facility!! Metro Paint
Anyone else have loads of half full paint in their shed/garage?! Metro Paint in Portland has created a solution to this global problem. Paint is a hazardous material to dispose of and so the Portland recycling authority has been collecting waste paint since 1991. They began separating the colours out & noticed that large quantities of similar shades still gave strong colours. They set up a paint recycling unit that initially sorted paint in to 5 basic colours, this has since grown to 20 colours. The paint is sorted in to containers & then the colour is adjusted to match their colour charts. All Metro Paint is Green Seal certified meaning it meets the requirements for environmental responsibility.
Buy your paint in tin cans as opposed to plastic even if its recycled plastic as tin is much easier to recycle.
Donate your waste paint to charities and other organisations if you don’t have a local paint recycling facility as cool as metro.
