Super cool recycled paint facility!! Metro Paint
Anyone else have loads of half full paint in their shed/garage?! Metro Paint in Portland has created a solution to this global problem. Paint is a hazardous material to dispose of and so the Portland recycling authority has been collecting waste paint since 1991. They began separating the colours out & noticed that large quantities of similar shades still gave strong colours. They set up a paint recycling unit that initially sorted paint in to 5 basic colours, this has since grown to 20 colours. The paint is sorted in to containers & then the colour is adjusted to match their colour charts. All Metro Paint is Green Seal certified meaning it meets the requirements for environmental responsibility.
Take Aways
- Buy your paint in tin cans as opposed to plastic even if its recycled plastic as tin is much easier to recycle.
- Donate your waste paint to charities and other organisations if you donβt have a local paint recycling facility as cool as metro.
